About MerciYanis

Our mission is to help companies make their workplaces attractive, so people feel as good at the office as they do at home 🏡

To achieve this, we have built an all-in-one solution for workplace management. MerciYanis simplifies and centralizes the activities of workplace management teams, cleaning providers, and facility management companies through a SaaS platform and connected sensors. With MerciYanis, our customers can:

  • ⚙️ Manage incidents (e.g. a water leak) reported by employees scanning our QR codes or detected by our sensors.
  • 🌡️ Monitor key building data in real time, such as air quality or occupancy levels across different spaces.
  • 🧼 Digitalize the tracking of cleaning services: agent check-ins, service traceability, smart cleaning.

In 6 years, we have signed more than 150 customers, including Danone, TF1, Atalian, Samsic…

đź’™ The team

Founded in 2019 by Guillaume, Elise and Valentin, MerciYanis now has 25 employees. 👉 Discover our story. We hold strong values that guide the way we work – we invite you to read our Manifesto to make sure we’re aligned.

🛠️ The Stack

Node.js, TypeScript, React and Python, Scaleway, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, Kafka, Docker, Perseid, GitHub Actions. We rely on a cloud-agnostic, multi-service architecture.

The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer to lead product delivery. You will shape the quality, reliability, scalability and performance of our platform and customer-facing applications. You will work closely with our product engineers and our CTO to ensure our systems meet and exceed our internal and external customers’ expectations.

What You Will Do

  • Lead product delivery by making sure deadlines are met and quality is as high as possible: solutions are scalable, technical choices are sound, and specs are clear before work starts
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant infrastructure to support our web services
  • Spread good engineering practices across the team through code reviews, pair programming, documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers
  • Operate systems and troubleshoot issues in production environments (interrupts, on-call response, user administration, data extraction, infrastructure scaling, etc.)
  • Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, and incident response systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Build the next infrastructure – together with the CTO, design and build the foundations for what’s coming: platform scaling, AI capabilities, data infrastructure, and more

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
  • 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with significant experience building and scaling SaaS products
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work well in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Proven experience designing and operating distributed systems or cloud-native architectures at scale
  • A strong background in observability (OpenTelemetry, Grafana, etc.)
  • Experience with IoT systems or real-time data processing is a plus

Expected Mindset

  • Take initiative – you don’t wait to be told what to do. You see a problem, you fix it. You see an opportunity, you propose it.
  • Impact over output – you measure your work by what it changes, not by how many lines you ship. You focus on what matters most.
  • Rigorous – you deliver what you promise, and you hold others to the same standard. Details matter to you.
  • Autonomous – you can take a loosely defined problem, break it down, and drive it to completion without hand-holding.
  • Ownership – when something breaks, you fix it first and post-mortem later. You feel personally responsible for the product.
  • Execution excellence – you care about doing things right. “Good enough” is not in your vocabulary when it comes to shipping software.

If you’re excited about this opportunity but don’t check every box, we’d still love to hear from you. We look for talent above roles – feel free to apply!
